The Millennial Mindset

In this episode, Arika Pierce unpacks what it takes to live life on your terms and cultivate a millennial mindset. By helping you focus on your goals, tune into your why and identify specific action steps forward, Arika's motivating style will have you scribbling down your goals and figuring out how to reach them.
When Arika Pierce was 28, she was hired for her first “big” Corporate job. She had major imposter syndrome (before it was a thing), shedidn’t know anything about leadership, managing people, running a department or an office. She only knew how to be an “employee.” She decided that she had to succeed, so she became obsessed with learning about successful people. She read books, bios, learned new habits, went to seminars on how to be a better public speaker, communicator, and exude executive presence.
Her goal was to transform herself into a leader. A transformative leader. She decided that is what she wanted to be known for as she grew her career. That’s what she wanted people to say about her when she was not in the room. And guess what, it worked--she went on to become the youngest Vice President in her company and later held other Senior Executive roles. Over a decade later she is proud to say that she learned a lot along the way, but most importantly, she learned from leadership expert John C. Maxwell that the best thing leaders can do is to grow more leaders. To learn more about Arika visit her website or find her on Instagram, or LinkedIn.
